Mobile Urgent Care Comes Home To SaddleBrooke

SBINSIDER EXCLUSIVE REPORTING| February 8th, 2025

Urgent Care has been a mainstay of medical care since the 1970’s. Positioned as stand-alone medical facilities, these busy treatment offices bridge the gap between an urgent emergency hospital room visit or a scheduled trip to an MD.

DispatchHealth has added an at home urgent care service and is available to SaddleBrooke residents.  Now, you can phone or go online and get connected to a health care provider who will quickly determine if your problem requires a trip to emergency room or can be addressed by one of their mobile licensed and credentialed medical technicians. All the staff are either nurse practitioners or physicians assistants with MD’s available to provide backup support. DispatchHealth makes it easy for you to get treatment without getting into a car or ambulance.

Started in Colorado, DispatchHealth expanded to Tucson about 4 years ago and the company has locations nationwide in many metropolitan areas.

SBINSIDER chatted with a technician Matt who was leaving an appointment in Unit One. He related the company story and his personal background as an Paramedic of twenty years. Normally, he said, a mobile unit can arrive to provide diagnosis and care the same day. Their customers usually have one of the following problems:

  • COPD & CHF exacerbations
  • Pneumonia
  • High Fevers
  • Respiratory infections
  • Flu & COVID symptoms
  • Migraines
  • Dehydration
  • Urinary tract infection (UTI)

DispatchHealth can order prescriptions and works closely with your primary care physician.

Field Procedures Provided

According to their literature, DispatchHealth technicians can also perform an EKG, administer IV’s, stitch a cut, splint a limb, take a simple blood sample to diagnose any dehydration problems and run tests for rapid infectious diseases.

What they do not Treat

DispatchHealth does not send a unit if a patient has chest pain, mental confusion, hallucinations, intentional drug overdoses, severe shortness of breath, severe abdominal pain, stroke symptoms, vomiting blood and other symptoms which likely require a call to Golder Ranch Fire District 911 for ambulance transport.

Availability 7 Days a week

As noted earlier, same day service is usually available between the hours of 8AM and 10PM, 7 days a week including holidays.

Cost?

The really great news is that DispatchHealth services are covered by Medicare and Medicare Advantage and Medicaid!
