Party Registrations Shift in Maricopa, Pima

SBINSIDER REPORTING| December 7, 2025

The 2026 Congressional elections cycle with Donald Trump not on that ballot, would normally lead to large gains by Democrats, particularly in the House. Assuming the House goes Democrat, (Speaker Hakeem Jeffries)the last two years of Trump’s presidency is likely to be consumed by Trump impeachment hearings, which the legacy media loves. After all, drama and empty news is the stock in trade to gain eyeballs. The Senate would have to flip to at least 67 Democrats to actually have Trump removed from office, which has never happened in our history. Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, William Clinton and Trump twice, have all had articles of impeachment passed but only Nixon looked at the math and decided that going ahead with a Senate trial was likely to convict him. Johnson, Trump, Clinton and Trump (twice) all survived a Senate trial.

Redistricting Battles

Trump’s political staff understands the winds will be against him and the GOP in 2026 and their response is to make a strong effort to change the Congressional map-which might mitigate the election outcomes. Texas re-drew their lines and this week its work was approved by the SCOTUS. The result is a probability that five more GOP members will be elected from Texas. California already has a very heavy Democrat lead with fifty-two districts Democrat and nine Republicans-this despite the fact that roughly 40% of the voters are registered Republicans. Still, Gavin Newsom convinced the voters to toss the Constitutionally approved redistricting system-just this one time-in order to virtually wipe out any districts which Republicans can win-to be decided. Massachusetts’ slightly bright Governor (Maura Healey) chimed in that her state would follow California only to be told that all the members of Congress were already Democrats in safe districts…

Other states have also considered or are actively pursuing redistricting in order to tilt the playing field. Arizona is not one of those-each party deems the current GOP drawn lines as fair.

Arizona Voters

*Republicans lost more registrations in Maricopa than Democrats since the county is heavily Republican, but wound up with a high registration advantage by percentage (R+7.3% to R+7.5%) since so many non-partisan registrations were also vanquished. Heap’s maintenance effort last month eliminated more than 5% of Maricopa County’s voter roll, which is a major clapback against mail-in ballot fraud and ballot stuffing capabilities for those who do that sort of thing to get unappealing, uncharismatic, and frumpy gubernatorial candidates “elected” – and potentially “reelected.”

Keep in mind that over a third of Arizona voters are registered as PND or no party designated. These folks tend to shift from election to election and are crucial to winning state-wide in Arizona and Congressional Districts 1 and 6. District six is our own Juan Ciscomani.
